7 WAYS TO SNEAK SPINACH INTO YOUR MEALS

With life moving faster than our eyes could see, it’s getting harder and harder to come up with healthy diets for us on the go. However, spinach is one kind of vegetable that is easy to include in any dish you might want to make. Spinach entered popular culture as a great vegetable to eat thanks to Popeye the Sailor Man, and it helped the vegetable gain approval from parents and kids alike. Nowadays, however, spinach is not as popular as it once was but that does not make its nutritional value any less effective. Here are seven ways you can sneak spinach into your meals!

1. Add Spinach To Eggs

Eggs have traditionally always been a part of a family’s healthy breakfast. For any of us scrambled egg or omelet fans, spinach leaves would be a great addition to this timeless breakfast staple. While visually the only difference it would make is seeing green bits around your eggs, the difference in taste would be more obvious and even pleasing!

2. Toss Spinach Into a Casserole

Casseroles are no stranger for having vegetables in them, and yes, this also includes spinach. A dish that is quite popular is the creamed spinach casserole, famous for including all kinds of veggies. Along with fresh spinach, this casserole contains other ingredients, such as chopped artichokes, butter crackers, sour cream, cheese, garlic, and onion. It’s a great treat to prepare for family and friends, too.

3. Blend Spinach Into a Smoothie

While we all aren’t strangers to the likes of yellow, red and orange smoothies especially as they’re common fruit varieties – but what about a spinach smoothie? Even if it’s a vegetable, spinach is still a viable drink option. Alongside aiding in digestion and helping improve metal clarity, spinach smoothies also have a distinctive taste that even the most avid fruit smoothie enjoyers would love!

4. Add Frozen Spinach to Soup

Nothing beats a warm bowl of soup on a cold day, and spinach can be included in something as warm as soup as much it can for a cold smoothie. Including frozen spinach in your soups will bring out the best in your dish. Some variations you can try are lentil spinach soup, sausage & spinach soup, Italian spinach soup, and chunky tomato spinach soup.

5. Make Meatloaf or Meatballs with Spinach

Spinach can add some flavor and variety to your meatloaf dish. If you’re tired of that same old meatloaf taste, throwing some spinach right before you bake it would give it an extra kick of flavor you never knew it needed! If you’re willing to go the extra mile, you can also try mixing spinach with meatballs, too!

6. Stir Spinach Into a Stir-Fry

When done right, stir-fry recipes contain a little bit of meat and a lot of veggies. Most people use vegetables, such as asparagus, celery, onions, and broccoli. However, for something a little different, try using spinach. For something totally different (but not very sneaky), you could try making a spinach stir-fry with garlic.

7. Top Pizza with Spinach

The Italian food that’s seemingly everyone’s favorite, pizza has had its fair share of toppings since its creation. We’ve seen everything from pepperoni to pineapples on them, but nothing beats a good old combination of spinach and cheese. It’s something so simple yet would bring out the best out of any pizza recipe.
