Listoric is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including readers who use assistive technologies. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Listoric is working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some content may not yet fully conform; we are actively addressing known gaps.
Measures we take
We take the following steps to support accessibility on Listoric:
- Including accessibility as part of our editorial and design standards.
- Building on a theme (Blocksy) and block editor that follow accessibility best practices.
- Choosing color combinations and type sizes intended to support readability and meet WCAG contrast targets.
- Writing meaningful image alt text on the photos that accompany our articles.
- Using semantic HTML headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page structure.
- Testing keyboard navigation on key flows (home, category, single article, search, contact).
- Reviewing third-party plugins and embeds for accessibility compatibility before adding them.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
Listoric is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common assistive technologies, including screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. The site relies on standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA) for accessibility support.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Older articles may have images that lack descriptive alt text. We are reviewing and updating older posts.
- Third-party content embedded from external services (advertising, analytics, social embeds) may not meet the same accessibility standards as our own content.
- Some decorative elements (fleurons, ornaments) are presentational only and may not be announced by assistive technology.

We assess the accessibility of Listoric through a combination of self-evaluation, automated accessibility scanning of new templates and significant content updates, and review of feedback from readers. We update this statement when our approach or conformance status changes.
